Biking

One of my favorite things to do for both enjoyment and health is biking. I generally try to ride my bike every day, usually in the evening after work, though I’m trying to start getting up earlier to get a morning session in too.

I usually ride in my neighborhood on weeknights for the sake of convenience, generally on my Trek FX 3 hybrid bike which has served me very well as a daily cruiser. I’ll also take it out on the weekends to more scenic places in the Charlottesville, Virginia area, one of my favorite rides being High Bridge Trail out near Farmville.

Of late, I’ve been feeling more adventurous and exploring trails that feature more difficult terrain, like Preddy Creek Park and Lake Anna State Park, and I’ve been having a blast doing it. Initially, I was doing these trails on my FX 3 (and likely doing some damage to the bike), so I figured it was advisable to get a bike that is more suited for rugged terrain. After spending countless hours on r/MTB, I shelled out and got myself a Trek Roscoe 7 to be able to traverse these gnarly trails properly. Here’s me with it shortly after purchasing it:

Come back to this page in the future, as I plan to add photos and feedback on the various trails that I ride. In the meantime, do you have any places that you recommend that I check out? If so, leave a comment below or reach out to me directly!
